Dental Restorations (Fillings)

Dental decay is the result of the interaction between bacteria in your mouth and food particles which break down into an acid, potentially eroding the enamel of a tooth.

A filling is a way to repair a tooth that has been damaged by decay. It allows the tooth to be restored to its normal function and shape. The procedure involves removal and cleaning of the decayed portion of the tooth followed by addition of a restorative material.

Composite resin filling material is a tooth colored restorative material. It is bonded directly to the surface of the tooth making the restoration strong as well as protecting the tooth from fracturing. The procedure involves layering the composite and hardening it with a high intensity light source. The restorative material blends well with the tooth and provides an esthetic result.

Crowns and Bridges

A crown covers the tooth restoring it to its original size and shape. It is necessary when significant amounts of tooth structure have been removed in order to provide strength. A crown is necessary when the tooth has a large filling and needs to be protected from breaking, or to restore a tooth that has already broken. The procedure involves preparing the tooth for the crown by reshaping it and then obtaining an impression. This impression is sent to a dental laboratory who will fabricate the crown. The crown is then cemented onto the tooth.

Dental Implants

Dental implants offer patients many options to restore their smile. If you suffer from tooth loss, this might be the solution for you! A dental implant may be used to replace a tooth that has been lost due to disease or trauma. An implant looks and feels like a natural tooth, and does not require preparation of other teeth for support.

We work closely with dental specialists, such as Oral Surgeons and Periodontists to carefully plan this procedure. After the implant is placed by the specialist, we will restore with a dental crown.
